Back when the 599 GTO came out, Ferrari called it the fastest road-going Ferrari ever. Of course, that designation didn't take extreme tunes into account. And when you take the fastest Ferrari ever and put it through an extreme tune, you have a beast of a car.
Novitec Rosso used two supercharges, a modified exhaust system, an air-to-water intercooler and custom intake manifolds to achieve 888...
We've known about the 50-model Lexus Nurburgring package for nearly a year now, yet we've been stuck using the same pictures story after story. But today that all changes. In anticipation of its official Geneva show debut, Lexus has released a sizable album of new Nurburgring pictures, showing the orange car from all angles. We were hoping for a picture or two of the $20,000 matte black paint...
You might think that buying a $375,000, 500-example Japanese supercar would make you feel special enough. But then you wouldn't really know rich car guys very well.
American tuner CEC knows them a little better. And that's why it's offering a tuned version of the Lexus LFA to the highly exclusive tune of just three models. The Tuned Edition won't offer any performance upgrades, but will get...
Thanks to G-Power, BMW's are gaining all kinds of titles. Back in August, we saw the world's fastest sedan, and now G-Power is back with what it calls the world's fastest four-seat coupe. The tuner used the same supercharged 800-hp version of BMW's 5.0-liter V10 that it used in the M5 Hurricane RR to create the M6 Hurricane RR. It also added a new carbon fiber front skirt and rear spoiler to...
The SEMA show begins next week and one of the most interesting cars there will be the Hennessey Venom GT, which the company announced will be make its debut on November 2. If you'll recall, the Hennessey GT is the Frankenstein of supercars: 1,200-horsepower worth of twin-turbocharged 6.2-liter V8 LS9 power shoved into the middle of a Lotus Evora chassis. Combining the tiny, light chassis with...
The Camaro may not be a Lamborghini, but it is a pretty iconic muscle car all its own. So, if you're going to kit the thing over to look like something else, at least be sure to do it right.
This owner didn't do it right. In fact, he did it dead wrong. In what looks like something that was designed out of paper mache for a 5th grade art project, this ugly monster is one car hack's take on a...
The 6.2-liter V8 engine of the Neiman Marcus Camaro Convertible not quite cutting it for you? How about replacing it with a Hennessey-tuned supercharged 6.2-liter V8 LS9 from the Corvette ZR1. That'll get ya 745 horses and 763 lb-ft of torque. It'll also get ya to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds. And Hennessey plans to offer all that capability in both hard and soft-top Camaros.
Back in May, German tuner Gemballa shut down suddenly as its owner and founder--Uwe Gemballa--remained missing since February. Mr. Gemballa is still MIA, but the tuning shop that bears his name is now back on the rails. Andreas Schwarz is the new CEO, and he and investor Steffen Korbach purchased the rights and assets of the company, intending to bring it back to tuning. The first model from the...
G-Power announced today what it's calling the world's fastest sedan. The German tuner turned the BMW M5 into an 800-hp beast known as the Hurricane RR, and captured a track time of 231.2 mph--in a two-ton sedan! While it doesn't appear the time was independently verified, that's still a lot of mph's for a four-door.
Way back in the frosty days of February, we saw a roughly camoed Firebird-kitted Camaro that was identified by the name "FireBreather." We knew then that the kit was made by Classic Design Concepts for a movie from Exxodus Pictures, but we didn't know it was going to be on sale.
Well, now we do. And so do you. The Firebreather is being offered in a limited edition, 50-model release for a cost...
Just a few days too late for our list of horribly modified supercars, this atrocity here is the new Bugatti Veyron Linea Vincero d'Oro from Mansory. What isn't wrong with this picture? Excessive exterior carbon fiber, check. Faux-gold rims and accents, check. Ostrich-patterned, gold leather interior, check. Interior perimeter LED lighting, check again. Everything about this thing makes you feel...
Exotic cars, whether of the sport or luxury variety, are the artful masterpieces of the highway. These vehicles excel beyond all others both in terms of styling and performance, and they don't need any aftermarket attention to make people stare in envy. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop tuners from trying.
With a proclivity for disaster, tuners have injected their own vision into these...
You may not be able to buy a Plymouth anymore, but that doesn't have to stop you from pretending to drive one. HPP has introduced two add-on packages that allow you to "update" your Dodge Challenger to a look of muscle car madness not seen since the waning of the 1970s.
The two kits include serious exterior mods like the massive rear spoiler, reworked front end and pop-up headlights. The...
Yes, Mansory is back on our home page. And you know what that means: Something awful happened. This something awful is called the White Ghost. Yes, a fun, playful name on the new Rolls, but the name is where the fun ends.
Eye over the exterior and you can almost be lulled into thinking the White Ghost isn't half bad. It's very white. It's a Rolls. It's hard to find much fault.
The Porsche Panamera isn't exactly the best-looking Porsche on its own. Still, it's a quality piece of automobile that took home the Bloomberg Car of the Year at the end of last year. Had Porsche had the same vision as Mansory, it probably wouldn't have ever been considered.
Inspired and named after the American stealth bomber, this is the F-117 Nighthawk, a Ferrari 458 Italia tuned up by German shop Cam-Shaft. The jet-inspired graphics that warn of things like "Beware of Jetblack" and "Danger – Ejection Seat" are a bit cheesy, but that lackluster grey suit fits the 458 like no other. Cam-Shaft wrapped the Ferrari up in a vinyl wrap to create the effect.
It...
German tuning house DMC has released a tuning package for the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 that adds a little bit of speed, power and style to the venerable Lambo. The Quattro Veloce package upgrades the output of the engine to 661 hp, allowing a decrease in 0 to 60 mph time to 3.2 seconds and an increase in top speed to 213 mph (standard LP 640 offers 3.4 seconds and 211 mph).
Gemballa founder and owner Uwe Gemballa went missing in February and has not been heard from since. It's believed that he may have been kidnapped after a visit to South Africa to meet with potential investors for a new venture. Much mystery and intrigue surround Gemballa's disappearance, and it's not clear if or when he will be found. In a case of the ship going down in its captain's absence,...
Okay, I'm officially over matte black special editions. They had a good run, but stop. Please. Maybe it's just that this particular tune is matted and blacked way too thoroughly, but the whole matte black theme has seemed to lose its luster (or lack of luster). At least for today.
Not content with the 550 to 600 horses Bentley pulled out of its twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder engine, German tuner Wheelsandmore has created the not-so-delicately-named Wheelsandmore Bentley Continental Ultrasports 702. We like the Ultrasports designation, we just wish it didn't take so long to get there.
